On Tuesday 23 December, the Port Centre in the port of Palma will host a charity concert by the Son Dameto Choir, a musical event in aid of charity that will take place at 7 pm and will be accompanied by a charity hot chocolate party in support of the SOS Mamás association. This activity is part of the Nadal al port de Palma programme, the Christmas programme promoted by the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB).
The concert is free to attend, although prior registration is required via the APB website. The charity hot chocolate party will be held during and after the concert, inviting attendees to contribute to the cause through donations and by buying tickets for the hot chocolate.
In addition to the concert and hot chocolate party, the APB continues its charitable work with a food drive for SOS Mamás, an initiative that will continue until the end of the Christmas holidays. The collection point is located at the Port Centre, where members of the public can drop off non-perishable items Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm. The food collected will be distributed by SOS Mamás to families most in need during the Christmas season.
Christmas in the Port of Palma
The Nadal al port de Palma Christmas programme also includes a wide variety of activities for the whole family. In addition to the concert and charity hot chocolate event, the programme will continue until January 2026, including a Christmas eco-workshop and children's film screenings on 27 December and 3 January. The bravest can take part in the first dip of the year at Can Pere Antoni beach on 1 January. The programme will culminate with the Epiphany Parade on 5 January, an unmissable event for young and old alike.
Tomorrow's concert, the chocolate party and the series of charity activities are a new way of consolidating the port of Palma as a place for people to come together and show solidarity during the festive season, encouraging public participation and support for initiatives that work to improve the lives of Majorca's most vulnerable families.
For more information on the full programme of activities and to register in advance, please visit the APB website.
Exhibition "A stroll along the Seafront"
Until 7 January, visitors to the Port Centre can also visit the “A stroll along the seafront” exhibition, which offers a historical overview of the evolution of Palma's seafront promenade, from its origins to its current redevelopment. The exhibition reveals how this route became a key infrastructure for the growth of the port and its connection to other docks, as well as the transformation of the area thanks to the recent redevelopment.
